Tuna Tataki With Chai Crust

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

  • 30 grams chia seeds

  • 2 fresh tuna steak (approx.225g each)

For the salsa

  • 1 red pepper cleaned and cubed 

  • 1/2 an onion chopped finely

  • 1 mango chopped in cubes

  • Bunch rocket leaves

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1/2 lime

Method
  • Mix soy and oil. Marinate the tuna steaks for at least 30 min. Place the marinated tuna in the refrigerator.

  • Remove the tuna from the marinade and pass it through a bowl with chia seeds sealing the fillets on all sides. 

  • Cook for 1 min on each side on a very hot griddle pan.

  • Slice the fillet into thin slices and place on a plate.

  • For the salsa mix all the chopped ingredients in a bowl and dress with sesame oil and lime juice.
